Interests:
When I can find the time, my hobbies include: coaching my daughters in basketball, watching the Denver Broncos fall short of expectations, watching movies in my home theater, reading Stephen King (and sometimes lesser novelists), converting our old photos and negatives to electronic format, camping in our pop-up camper, and sitting on the deck in our backyard — next to warm fire in the chiminea, watching the sun go down over the Rocky Mountains. My biggest passion right now is the development of software programs for distribution as charityware via my pseudo-company Spitting-Image Software. After taking piano lessons for a couple of years I found it more interesting to create music than to play it. I’ve written a couple of pieces and you can check them out for yourself, here. I’ve also gotten involved in the OLPC effort (both Kallie and Ellie got XOs a couple of Christmases ago) by starting my own activities page.
My twenty favorite movies (in no particular order) are:
- The Crying Game
- Aliens
- The Matrix
- Memento
- My Life as a Dog
- Lemon Sky
- GoodFellas
- American Beauty
- Magnolia
- Kill Bill (vols. 1 & 2)
- Sling Blade
- Deep Impact
- Quest for Fire
- Bully
- Training Day
- Silence of the Lambs
- Fight Club
- Planet Terror
- Deliverance
- The Exorcist
I work as a systems engineer at Avaya Communications. That means that I write documents that describe in detail what a piece of telecommunications equipment should do and how it should look. I’m also responsible for communicating that vision to the people who create these combination hardware/software products and to the potential customers in telecommunications companies around the world.

- The Anti-Phishing Working Group – Phishing attacks use ‘spoofed’ e-mails and fraudulent websites designed to fool recipients into divulging personal financial data such as credit card numbers, account usernames and passwords, social security numbers, etc. By hijacking the trusted brands of well-known banks, online retailers and credit card companies, phishers are able to convince up to 5% of recipients to respond to them.
